How to Spa

Tips to increase your enjoyment.
To ensure you receive the maximum benefit and enjoyment from your treatments, please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your first appointment.  This time will allow a few moments to enjoy the serene environment of the quiet room and to utilize the facilities including our steam showers and rain showers.  Should you arrive late, please understand that we will provide your service in the time remaining.  Your treatment will still end on time so our next guest will not be inconvenienced.  Please shower prior to any treatment to enhance relaxation.

What should I wear for my treatments?
We will never compromise your modesty.  You will be given a robe to change into before your treatment.  Under the robe?  Most people choose to wear nothing at all, but it's up to you.  Therapists will only expose the portion of your body that is being treated at the time.  For body treatments, you will be provided with disposable underwear.  For facials, ladies will be provided with a comfortable wrap.  On spa days it is best to leave jewelry at home.  Remember, it is our goal to make you feel relaxed and comfortable at all times.

What should I do following my spa visit?
Following any treatment, it is recommended that you drink plenty of water and refrain from participating in vigorous activity for at least one hour.  Time in the steam shower should be limited to 5 minutes.

Featured Artwork

Throughout the spa we feature paintings by local artist, Michael McDyer. We plan to feature works by other artists and host opening showcases for the artists. If you would like to be kept informed about upcoming events, please sign- up for our newsletter on the homepage.

Below is Michael' s biography and information about his work.

Michael McDyer (b.1957) is a painter who loves color and art for art' s sake. His subject is always the beauty of human form, nature, or color. He uses texture and light, to paint atmospheric landscapes communicating countryside scenes rich in form, or when simply creating expressive abstract paintings.

His highly evocative landscapes emerge from the Impressionist tradition and capture soothing and magical dappled light. These compositions, although taken directly from nature, border on the abstract, and are rich in texture, spatial ambiguities and fluid movement. Recognizable elements appear and disappear within areas of pure abstraction. Inspired by emotional responses to particular situations and events, these paintings work on several levels, and pull together visual stimulation, emotional response, and symbolic content.

His expressive abstract paintings play with multiple layers of color and form. Many of these works feature swathes of intense color that flow and blend freely beneath the surface, seducing the viewer with extreme aesthetic pleasure.

Michael was born in Miami, Florida, and has lived in the New York metropolitan area his entire adult life. He is inspired by the diverse landscapes of the northeast, particularly those found throughout New England. He has studied at the Art Students League, School of Visual Arts and The New School. In addition to painting, he loves to draw and is an avid photographer. He began sculpting recently, and is currently working on several pieces.

He has presented his work in solo exhibitions in New York City, Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale. On occasion his art has been commissioned, most recently for a cancer center on Long Island and at the Drew Patrick Spa. His paintings are held in several private collections as well as the corporate collections of American Express, Chase, and Brooklyn College.
